Fay ‘MoonWalking’ this Saturday!

Following on from Gary’s 24hr run over the Purbecks for MND, Fay our wonderful Office Manager, will this Saturday be doing the ‘MoonWalk’, a power walking challenge of a Marathon distance (26.2 miles), round the streets of London, through the night! All in aid to raise awareness and funds for vital breast cancer causes, that helps patients today and with the aid of research, the future health of others too.

“I have never embarked on anything like this and thought that I could do with a challenge.”

“This is such a worthwhile cause and especial close to my heart as one of our team members, Stacey, was found to have the BRCA1 gene, which has seen members of her family affected by breast cancer. She recently took the very brave decision to have a double mastectomy, as risk reducing surgery.”

Fay has been training hard since the start of the new year, impressing us here at GF Electrical with her commitment. She has been IMG-20180315-WA0001out walking through all the horrendous dark, cold, wet nights (with the aid of our fantastic UniliteUK hats and even when it snowed it didn’t stop her, almost broke her but she carried on regardless. All in all, Fay has managed to clock up over a 100 miles distance walking over Dorset!

Fay has a personal goal of £500 to raise and she is already 80% there. If you would like to donate, help her achieve and exceed her target amount please visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/fay-sunderland and read her journey.

“Anything we can do to eradicate this terrible disease that touches so many of our lives is very worthwhile, so please give, any generosity is great appreciated. Wish us luck.”
