Government’s Kickstart Scheme

Government’s Kickstart Scheme

After a long wait, we have finally been able to proceed with the Government’s Kickstart Scheme! We are delighted to have been able to offer a new role during these challenging times. The scheme was a great opportunity for the business as it allowed there to be a totally new role created. If it were not for the Kickstart, we would not have been able to generate the role at this time, so it has been great for the company.

Committed to investing and supporting young adults

Michelle Fisher, HR Manager, has always been committed to investing and supporting apprenticeships. So when the Kickstart was announced, it took 5 minutes to jump on board!

“This has been such a hard year for everyone, but massively for our young adults.  They have studied and worked hard to get to this point, ready to start their careers. It has been a win, win. To be able to help someone gain experience and at the same time a chance for GF Electrical to try out a new role that in this current climate, we would not have considered without the Government scheme.”

Opportunity during these challenging times

There were many ups and downs within the six months of the process of applying and waiting for the go ahead. But we are finally here! The team would like to welcome Morgan as our ‘Business Developer’, handling social media accounts and the website.

“I feel very grateful to be given this opportunity especially during these difficult times. There are many people within my age bracket that are unemployed and struggling to find jobs. Having the opportunity due to the kickstart scheme is great!

It is fantastic to be able to gain more experience in marketing on social media and creating content for the website so that I can build up experience on my cv. My first week has gone very well by online training, creating new content for the social media accounts, and planning content for future events.”
