As we enter another year, it’s a time to reflect and look back at 2022!
Whilst we are really proud that over 85% of our clients are ‘existing’, we have had loads of new enquiries this year and it’s been exciting to deal with some new clients who we hope to have a long happy future with.
Contracts Completed
GF Electrical has been involved in some great contracts over the last 12 months! Ranging from our large contract with Spaceway which saw our guys working away in Leicestershire for a large chunk of the year to our EICR’s of private rental properties.
We have a new contract that is continuing into 2023 with Sovereign Housing Association Ltd, which we are really excited for.
To see what projects, we have completed this year head to our Case Studies page.
Training and Development…
The team expanded further this year with the newest member of our team, Anthony, who joined in September. Fresh out of school, he has started his four-year apprenticeship with us and Bournemouth and Poole College!
Training and Development is particularly important to us at GF Electrical. Over this year we have continued to develop all employees. The training varied, ranging from Mental Health Awareness Training with the EIC, Easee Installer Training and Level 3 Fire Alarm & Detection Course. All while continuing to keep current training up to date and refreshes set.
Awards
This year we decided to put David Harper forward for the Dorset Apprenticeship Awards, and he was selected as one of the finalists! HE has progressed very quickly due to his own self-motivation, appreciation of what he has got, and what he wants to achieve.
Being of a mature age for an apprentice, he is a prime example of why apprenticeships are not just for school leavers and why they benefit employers.
The final was held at Superior Seals, a perfect venue given that they are such an advocate for apprentices. David had some tough competition, but we were immensely proud of being represented by such a strong candidate.
Boosting Morale
Ensuring our team builds bonds is important to us at GF Electrical! We try to get everyone out for a fun day twice a year to show our appreciation to our great workforce. Our company events always boost morale. Everyone gets to mix and catch up which is important as many do not cross paths for weeks or months sometimes!
This year we decided to do a boat trip. We hired a catamaran with a rob alongside for the thrill seekers to have a go on a Ringo! We were extremely lucky with the weather, with the hottest day of the week and beautiful blue skies.
Our Managing Director attended the Dorset Charity Golf Open with some staff and clients in aid of supporting Dorset Mind. It was an enjoyable day for all involved and we even managed to come away with a couple of prizes too, including a meat hamper from The Dorset Meat Company.
This year’s Christmas Do was something a little different…we headed to Insanity Gaming Arcade. 2 hours of fun playing arcade games, with lots of laughs had. We finished the evening off by heading to Flaming Peaches round the croner for the most amazing burger and chips!
Forget the Christmas cards … how about something tasty instead?
This year we decided not to do Christmas cards. So, for our long-standing fab clients, we got some lovely cupcakes made by The Lettie Gray Bakery and went out and about delivering! Those who are further afield received some biscuits in the post, thankfully just before the strike!
