Why use a BAFE accredited contractor?

We have successfully passed our BAFE assessment again this year with no non conformancies. Using a BAFE accredited contractor offers numerous benefits to the end user, primarily revolving around assurance of quality, compliance, and competence in fire safety services. Here’s a breakdown of the key advantages:

Proven Competence and Quality:

BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Excellence) is an independent, third-party certification body for the fire safety industry in the UK. Contractors who are BAFE accredited have undergone rigorous and regular assessments by a UKAS accredited certification body. This ensures they have demonstrably met high industry standards and best practices for their specific fire safety services.

Independent Verification:

The accreditation process involves independent audits of the contractor’s processes, systems, staff competence, and adherence to relevant British and European standards. This takes away the guesswork for the end user, as BAFE has already performed the due diligence.

Legal Compliance and Due Diligence:

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places responsibility for fire safety on the owner or occupier of a premises. By using a BAFE accredited contractor, end users can demonstrate that they have taken reasonable steps to ensure their fire safety measures are being handled by competent professionals. This can be crucial for legal defence and insurance purposes in the event of a fire.

Reduced Risk:

A BAFE accredited contractor is more likely to provide correct and effective fire safety solutions, from design and installation to commissioning and maintenance. This significantly reduces the risk of fire safety failures, protecting lives, property, and business continuity.

Peace of Mind:

Knowing that your fire safety systems are handled by a BAFE accredited contractor provides peace of mind. You can be confident that the services are compliant with regulations, installed and maintained to a high standard, and regularly monitored for ongoing competence.

Up-to-Date Expertise:

BAFE accredited companies are subject to ongoing assessments, ensuring they remain up-to-date with the latest fire safety standards, technologies, and best practices.

In essence, choosing a BAFE accredited contractor removes uncertainty and provides a high level of assurance that your fire safety needs are being met by qualified, reliable, and compliant professionals.
