Over the years we’ve had many issues with ordering our traditional Danish Blue vans. With the company constantly growing and us taking on a further 3rd year apprentice, we knew we had to look at what options we had.
We started by looking at what vehicles we could lease straight away, but this was taking us away from our VW blue company image.
On Holton Heath there is now Southwest Vehicle Auctions which have a day every week selling commercial vans. On this day they had 3 blue British Gas vans, this was perfect for us! Still not the correct colour but a closer match to grey or white.
After an afternoon at the auction, we walked away with a 2016 Caddy Maxi in great condition! This meant we could take the van away today and get to work on it!
We got a full MOT and service completed by South Elite Automotive to ensure the van was up to scratch. We organised a full respray to be carried out by our local body shop, Pit-Stop Paintworx. This allowed the colour to match and all minor cosmetic issues to be addressed before being rolled out to the field!
The Caddy then headed off to Stripes Poole for branding.
This allowed us to purchase a van which will now be part of the fleet for many years.
We absolutely loved this project, and we think the results speak for themselves!
