Our client Spaceway South Ltd specialises in project management, design, mezzanine floors and storage for industrial and commercial businesses. This was a project for Brevitt Rieker a company that provides shoes and accessories to many independent retailers, mainly in Europe.
The Brief
The size of the warehouse is approximately 3000 square metres. The client was extending their current premises by adding more floor space with a mezzanine, nearly doubling their storage area.
The project was to install all new lighting, sockets above and below the mezzanine, Wi-Fi access points with data cables and sub mains installation.
This project was a straightforward one with minimal challenges.
This was carried out in three phases to keep operations flowing due to client remaining on site.
A lighting design was carried out by Ovia to ensure even spread and correct lux levels were achieved.
Due to the new mezzanine being installed, Ovia 1500 twin anti corrosive lights were fitted underneath. In other areas, high bay lighting was required so Ovia high bay 100w and 150w were chosen. All controlled by integral movement sensors to ensure energy efficiency.
A new sub main was installed at the opposite end of the warehouse for an office and future expansion.
Due to the distance, a fibre data link was installed from the existing server room to the opposite end of the warehouse to ensure maximum speed and stability. This is now proving a very popular option when installing additional data cabinets.
Due to the space, management, and the effort from all, we delivered this project ahead of schedule.
This was a great contract for all at GF and a pleasure to deliver to such an accommodating end user.
